Coping with Divorce

Starting the legal process. It is very difficult to know that my wife has virtually no struggle to let go of 10 yrs together where we have a 6 yr old daughter. Things haven't been great leading up to this but I truly believed we were reaching a better place to move forward in a positive direction. Now I'm finding that not only is she ready to leave but has reduced our marriage to me being a monster that she cannot stand. I had no idea that there was that much hate.

I feel that I just lost 10 yrs with a woman that was never in love with me or committed to a successful marriage. I do have the most beautiful daughter but I am sad that she will not grow up in a traditional family. I can't seem to let go of the positives which leaves my wife even more upset and wanting to leave...

hey

OverTheEdge -

sorry for the delay in this reply,
I am sorry to hear your story, but the way you are trying to keep your focus on the positive things is very good for you. Do not worry about the way your wife reacts to your positivity.

It is painful but it is better to happen now than to go on for years and years, maybe your entire life, thinking that you are experiencing something that isn't totally. And you will always have your daughter, so never say you wasted 10 years of your life.

I hope some of this helps, but nothing can just stop how you feel, you will feel upset for a while but just know it will eventually become manageable and you will be able to grow from it. It's a shame that your wife was not more honest with you sooner but all you can do is move forward.

I hope you are doing well now that it has been some months since you posted this good luck
