Not trusting after divorce

I am dating a woman I love very much. We have been together approaching a year. She is a wonderful woman and a single Mom who has raised her kids on her own after surviving a difficult relationship.

I have tried in many ways to show her I love her and care about her and believe in her. However, it seems like the more I try to convince her that the glass is half full as far as our relationship goes, she keeps pointing out reasons why the glass is half empty.

When I diffuse on excuse she seems to come up with another one. Now that I had to move away for work it has gotten worse. She had gotten back together with an old male friend and seems to want to keep me at arms length.

The more I show her I love her the more she acts like it is not real...telling me that she knows I "care" about her. She has a very hard time trusting and seems to have very strong walls I find myself continually trying to bring down.

I love her very much and just don't know what to do. It seems as if when I am myself she is just waiting for "proof" that this is not real.

This definitely hurts and I am not sure what to do.

hello

It's difficult for a girl or a woman to be in a serious relationship after a painful divorce. But, if you love her and want to be with her then first try to build the trust in her eyes for you. Be like a best friend with her then she might realize that what you feel for her is true and not a temporary feeling.
